National park safari (Udawalawa, Yala & Many More)

Galle Fort & Ciry tour

The capital of the southern province, Galle is a city with a colourful history. UNESCO declared World Heritage Site the magnificent Dutch fort is the most popular attraction of the town. 300-year-old Dutch atmosphere is still very much alive around the fort and amidst its many historical buildings not invaded by the skyscrapers. Today’s town has grown greatly and spread into the surroundings but the Fort is the slow beating heart of Galle‘s history. Today the fort houses many Restaurants, Eateries and boutiques that will keep any visitor busy for the entire day. Full-day or half-day guided tour is the best way to explore the area and its hidden places.

Madu River Safari

Madu River is a wetland, near the Small town “Balapitiya”. The Madu River is very rich in biodiversity. It passes through the wet zone of Sri Lanka opening up into the large Madu Lagoon on its way to the Indian Ocean. The Madu River area surrounding the river are all swampy marshlands covered in mangrove forests. 14 of the 24 species of mangroves are found in this area. The value of the mangroves was understood in December 2004, during the devastating tsunami, when forest acted as a natural barrier protecting the region. When it comes to birds, cormorants and kingfishers are a common sight. For avid bird watchers, the mangrove forests are a dream coming true and There are over 111 bird species identified to inhabit the region.

Deep Sea Fishing

Deep Sea fishing is a great adventure sport if you are keen on spending a few hours at sea. Since Sri Lanka is surrounded by the deep blue waters of the Indian Ocean, it offers travelers ample room for various water sports activities including deep-sea fishing. This activity is a form of angling that requires deep waters and is usually taken place further away from land. If you are going on a deep-sea fishing expedition, the water depth should be at least 30 meters. Deep-sea fishing is also called big game fishing, boat fishing, and even sport fishing.  Taking your boat further away from land means that you will be in deep waters filled with big game fish such as tuna, sharks, swordfish, and even marlin.

You can experience water sports at various coastal locations across Sri Lanka, 

Moonstone Mine

The Moonstone Mine is located near a small southwest village called Meetyagoda in Sri Lanka where you can find these beautiful stones which are white and give a blue shimmer. Sri Lanka’s moonstone – mostly from Meetiyagoda – have a reputation of being among the finest which has the highest value due to their uniquely intense blue shimmer. The blue-shining moonstones have become even rarer in everywhere around the world than in Sri Lanka in recent decades. This is why claiming to be the world’s only moonstone mine has some justification, as Meetiyagoda is the only remaining mine for moonstones with the highly attractive blue shimmer.

Turtle Farm and Hatchery

The Kosgoda Turtle Hatcheries can be reached by via a vehicle in less than 30 minutes from the Ambalangoda town area. Kosgoda Turtle Care program aims to protect sea turtle eggs and increase hatching rates and survival of baby turtles in their very initial stages. Protect the mother turtle during the nesting process and when she is finished laying the eggs and safely back in the ocean, we relocate the eggs from the beach to our hatchery. However, the Care centre also works on sick or injured adults, treating them and releasing them back into the ocean. They also run volunteer programs and awareness programs for local and international visitors.

Whale Watching Mirissa

Set sail to the depths of the Indian Ocean on a smooth cruise, in search of the magnificent creatures that dwell beneath the surface of the azure waters. Mirissa is the ideal place for whale and dolphin watching between the months of November to April, as the waters become a playground for a myriad of whales and dolphin species. Some of the most commonly spotted whales include sperm whales, killer whales, Bryde whales, short finned whales, while you’ll be able to see schools of bottlenose dolphins and striped dolphins as they playfully frolic around your boat! However, the main whale type to look out for is the blue whale – the largest animal in the world! Whale and Dolphin watching in Mirissa is ideal for nature lovers as they set sail into the ocean.
